Prabowo removes BGN chief Dadan Hindayana, names Nanik Deyang
Also replaced: two BGN deputies, as MBG faces scrutiny after a string of poisoning cases and suspensions of thousands of SPPG.
President Prabowo Subianto removed Dadan Hindayana from his post as head of the National Nutrition Agency, BGN, on Tuesday night (2/6) and named Nanik Sudaryati Deyang as his replacement. State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi also said the two deputy heads of BGN, Lodewyk Pusung and Sony Sonjaya, were dismissed. The deputy posts were then filled by Agustina Arumsari and Maj. Gen. TNI Trenggono. The shake-up was announced at Istana Negara in Jakarta. BGN is the agency that runs Makan Bergizi Gratis, one of Prabowo's flagship programs. Under Dadan's leadership, the program came under scrutiny after a number of poisoning cases among beneficiaries. CNN Indonesia reported that from the start of MBG on 6 January 2025 through 29 May 2026, 8,182 of the 27,208 SPPG in operation had been suspended.
