Mayjen Trenggono retires from TNI after becoming BGN deputy

His retirement was approved by the TNI commander as BGN was reshuffled following an alleged MBG corruption case.

TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto approved Mayjen Trenggono's resignation from active service after he was appointed deputy head of the National Nutrition Agency, or Badan Gizi Nasional. TNI spokesperson Brigadier General Muhammad Nas said personnel administration is now proceeding according to procedure. Trenggono also said the early retirement was proposed on his own initiative, not at the request of President Prabowo Subianto. He was inaugurated at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta, alongside Nanik Sudaryati Deyang as BGN chief and Agustina Arumsari as deputy chief. The leadership change at BGN came after the government reviewed the Free Nutritious Meals program and after the Attorney General's Office named Dadan Hindayana, Sony Sanjaya, and Lodewyk Pusung suspects in an alleged 2025-2026 MBG governance corruption case.
