Kejagung names Asep Yusuf new suspect in MBG graft case
He is alleged to have steered SPPG locations, scrapped vetted applicants, and funneled money to Sony Sonjaya.
Kejaksaan Agung has named Asep Yusuf Somantri as a new suspect in the alleged graft case involving management of the Makan Bergizi Gratis program. Asep, a private-sector figure said to be close to former Deputy Head of Badan Gizi Nasional Sony Sonjaya, was detained for 20 days at Rutan Salemba, a branch of Kejaksaan Negeri Jakarta Selatan. Investigators said Asep had access to interfere with the MBG partner verification team, allowing him to identify vacant kitchen sites and alter the selection results for prospective Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi, or SPPG, applicants on the partner portal. He is also suspected of facilitating the establishment of SPPG at sites that should have been closed and giving payments to Sony. Earlier, Kejagung had already named Dadan Hindayana, Sony Sonjaya and Lodewyk Pusung as suspects.
