Mahfud backs Kejagung probe into MBG graft, 3 ex-BGN leaders named

Investigators suspect the suspects inflated purchases of electric motorcycles, shoes, tablets and TVs, causing state losses.

Mahfud MD supports Kejaksaan Agung's move to investigate allegations of corruption in the management of the Makan Bergizi Gratis program at Badan Gizi Nasional. The case has named three former BGN leaders as suspects: ex-BGN head Dadan Hindayana and two former deputy heads, Sony Sonjaya and Lodewyk Pusung. In Bantul on Saturday, Mahfud said problems with the program were already apparent in the first months of implementation because its management was poor. Kejagung previously said the suspects allegedly inflated the prices of several procurements, including 21.801 electric motorcycles worth Rp1,035 trillion, 32.000 pairs of shoes, 31.994 tablets and 5.400 televisions. Investigators also suspect they interfered in the procurement process and appointed affiliated foundations as partners for nutrition service units.
