MBG Watch symbolically seals BGN office, gives 30-day ultimatum
The coalition is pressing for a full audit of MBG and warning of larger action if governance is not fixed within a month.
The MBG Watch civil society coalition symbolically sealed the National Nutrition Agency office in Central Jakarta on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, while urging the government to temporarily suspend the Makan Bergizi Gratis program. It said the program’s governance has been flawed from the start, citing the absence of regulations 10 months after launch, unclear beneficiary selection, and risks of conflicts of interest and corruption. MBG Watch said it has received many complaints since October 2025, including about food quality and poisoning cases. The coalition gave BGN 30 days to fix governance and called for a full audit of the program. The action came after Prabowo Subianto swore in Nanik Sudaryati Deyang as the new head of BGN on June 8, replacing Dadan Hindayana, who later became a suspect along with Sony Sonjaya and Lodewyk Pusung in an alleged MBG corruption case.
