Police deploy 6,675 personnel to secure student protests in Jakarta
Security will be concentrated at DPR/MPR, Bundaran HI, Monas Selatan and the BGN building, with traffic diversions adjusted as needed.
Polda Metro Jaya deployed 6,675 joint personnel to secure student demonstrations at several points in Jakarta on Monday (15/6). According to Polda Metro Jaya public relations chief Kombes Budi Hermanto, the force consists of 6,165 Polri personnel, 500 TNI personnel and 10 Dinas Perhubungan officers. Security will focus on the front of the DPR/MPR RI building, Bundaran HI, Silang Monas Selatan and the BGN RI building. Police said traffic arrangements will be made situationally in line with developments on the ground. People passing around DPR/MPR, Monas, Bundaran HI, Semanggi and the BGN building are asked to adjust their routes to avoid congestion.
