Carrier of 3 molotov cocktails at Jakarta DPR demo named suspect
Police are still questioning a companion identified as R as a witness and are probing the motive and possible network.
Polda Metro Jaya named ANH, 24, a suspect after police found three bottles containing a hazardous liquid with wicks in his backpack during a student protest around the Gedung DPR/MPR RI in Central Jakarta on Friday at about 15:30 WIB. ANH was detained on Jalan Gatot Subroto, near the main gate of the DPR. Police described the items as illegal incendiary devices that could endanger the crowd. Another man identified as R, described as a travel companion of ANH to the protest site, is still being questioned as a witness. Investigators from Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya charged ANH under Article 306 of the KUHP and said the investigation is continuing to trace the bottles' origin, the motive, and any possible involvement of other parties.
