Iran launches missiles at two US bases in Jordan

Jordan’s military said it intercepted eight incoming missiles in its airspace, with no major damage reported.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said it attacked two US military bases in Jordan on Monday (31/8) in retaliation for a US strike a day earlier. According to CNN Indonesia, Iran identified the targets as King Hussein base and Al Azraq. The IRGC said the ballistic missile attack hit technical infrastructure, repair facilities and areas used to park fighter jets. Soon after, Jordan’s military said its air defenses intercepted eight missiles that entered the kingdom’s airspace early in the morning. An Antara report citing US media also said nearly all of the missiles were intercepted and no significant damage had been reported.
