One suspect is alleged to have received more than Rp2 miliar, while two others are linked to fictitious projects that cost the state more than Rp16 miliar.
The pair were detained after the case file in the Joko Widodo fake diploma allegation was declared complete by Kejati DKI Jakarta.
Metro Jaya Police said the detentions were part of stage II after prosecutors at Kejati DKI Jakarta declared the case file complete, or P21.
Complainants blame witness requests, independent forensic tests and restorative justice bids by three suspects for the delay.
Next, investigators will hand over the suspects and evidence to prosecutors, moving the case toward indictment drafting and trial.
