Prabowo, Modi reach energy, AI and space deals in Jakarta

President Prabowo Subianto and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached a series of new agreements at a bilateral meeting at Istana Merdeka in Jakarta on Tuesday (7/7). The cooperation covers the development of solar power plants, exchanges on nuclear technology, digital technology, space, health and stronger security coordination. Modi said the two countries signed technology agreements for young people in AI, telecommunications and Digital Public Infrastructure, and deepened cooperation on startups. In industry, Indonesia and India also strengthened the resilience of supply chains for strategic commodities, especially critical minerals and steel, including a new partnership for stainless steel and rare-earth magnets. Prabowo said the two sides also agreed to expand health worker capacity and continue the Indonesia-India Security Dialogue.
