NTT quake death toll rises to 105, 179,037 displaced
BNPB also counted 1,678 injured, 81,436 damaged homes and 7,492 aftershocks since the disaster began.
The death toll from the earthquake in Nusa Tenggara Timur rose to 105 as of Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2026, while the number of displaced people was recorded at 179,037. BNPB chief Suharyanto reported the figures during a disaster-response meeting led by President Prabowo Subianto at the NTT Earthquake Response Post in Nagekeo. BNPB also recorded 1,678 injured and 81,436 damaged homes, with the worst impacts in Manggarai, Manggarai Timur and Nagekeo. According to BNPB, 6,094 displaced people have returned home voluntarily after conditions were judged safer. Since the first quake, 7,492 aftershocks have been recorded; 143 were felt, with the largest measuring M6,2. On the ground, Baznas distributed 1,900 portions of ready-to-eat meals to evacuation points in Sambi Rampas, Manggarai Timur.
