UAE blames Iran for missile strike on ADNOC ship in Hormuz

The United Arab Emirates blamed Iran for a missile strike on an ADNOC-linked vessel transiting the Strait of Hormuz on Aug. 8, calling it a hostile attack and accusing the Revolutionary Guards of piracy. Abu Dhabi said no injuries were reported and gave no details on the tanker, its cargo or the extent of any damage. The incident came as talks continued over reopening the waterway, with Iran pressing broad demands on Washington and separately saying it was close to a navigation arrangement with Oman. ADNOC said a day earlier that 15 of its vessels had been hit by missiles or drones since the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran began on Feb. 28, including three this week, killing one crew member and injuring 20 others.
