Telkomsat supplies satellite internet to 17 NTT quake sites
Priority service is being rolled out in Maumere, Ruteng and Larantuka as fiber optic lines and BTS sites are still being restored.
Telkomsat is preparing satellite-based connectivity at 17 points hit by the quake in Nusa Tenggara Timur, especially in Maumere, Ruteng and Larantuka. The move comes as restoration of TelkomGroup terrestrial networks continues gradually in several locations. The company is placing satellite service in areas where communication access has not yet recovered so residents can keep in touch and field crews can coordinate. TelkomGroup said some fiber optic routes, BTS sites and other infrastructure have been reactivated. In addition, free internet posts remain open at several points, while Telkomsel customers can activate the Paket Darurat through *888*20#. Recovery updates are also being announced through the Hotline Tanggap Bencana 0800-111-9000 and official Telkom Indonesia channels.
