PU speeds road, clean-water repairs after Flores quake
In NTT, 40 landslide points and four road breaks still need work, while water flow has been restored at SPAM IKK Nangaba, Ende.
The Ministry of Public Works is accelerating repairs to infrastructure damaged by disasters, especially after a magnitude 7.7 earthquake struck Flores in mid-August 2026. As of Aug. 16, nine national road sections affected in Nusa Tenggara Timur had returned to service, but 40 landslide points and four breaks in the road body were still being addressed. One section still under repair is Krica-Lidi, 4.1 kilometers long, in Desa Pulue, with at least 10 landslide points. In Kabupaten Ende, repairs to SPAM IKK Nangaba have been completed, restoring water flow to residents' homes. In Daerah Irigasi Mbay Kiri Lanjutan, damage to a 250-meter tertiary canal affected about 175 hectares of land. Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo asked local governments to immediately send data on damaged points so teams can move quickly.
