Kemlu: No Formal Complaints Yet From Neighbors on Haze
Indonesia is using ASEAN channels to share haze updates while deploying 12,880 personnel in Kalimantan and Sumatera.
The Foreign Ministry said Indonesia remains in contact with neighboring countries over the impact of smoke from forest and land fires, and as of Monday had not received any formal note of protest. Foreign Ministry spokesman Vahd Nabyl A. Mulachela said regional coordination is continuing as the government shares updates on the wildfire situation. Indonesia has also activated monitoring and information-sharing under ASEAN mechanisms and cooperation under the Agreement on Transboundary Haze Pollution. At home, response efforts have been reinforced by deploying 12,880 personnel, fire-fighting equipment, weather modification operations, and air-quality monitoring in Kalimantan and Sumatera. Earlier, President Prabowo Subianto led a meeting on wildfire response in Kalimantan Tengah.
