Polri sends 21 SAR personnel and 10 K-9 to NTT quake zone
Three AW169 helicopters and a Casa aircraft are on standby as several land routes are cut and affected areas remain isolated.
Polri sent 21 SAR personnel from the Baharkam Police Animal Directorate along with 10 K-9 tracking dogs to help search for earthquake victims in Nusa Tenggara Timur. The team departed from Mako Polisi Udara Pondok Cabe for Labuan Bajo carrying SAR equipment and about 2,5 tons of logistics.
The aid includes medicines, field tents, ready-to-eat meals, supplies for vulnerable groups, and 10 portable Wi-Fi units to support communications in the affected area. Polri also has three AW169 helicopters on standby for aid distribution and evacuation to hard-to-reach areas, while a Casa aircraft has already been used for mobility because part of the land routes are cut off.
The first priority areas include Sikka, Manggarai, and Manggarai Timur. Personnel deployment will be coordinated with Polda NTT according to search, evacuation, and field mitigation needs.
