PLN restores 100% of Flores power after M7.7 quake
All customers were back on normal supply by Tuesday at 17.40 WITA, supporting activity in Labuan Bajo.
PLN completed restoration of the electricity system in Flores, East Nusa Tenggara, after an M7.7 quake struck the area on Saturday, 15 August. As of Tuesday, 18 August, at 17.40 WITA, all affected customers were again receiving power. Repairs were carried out in stages at several locations, with 1.144 personnel deployed for security, network assessments and normalization. PLN said field work was slowed by access problems and damaged infrastructure, forcing crews to inspect the network point by point before switching it back on. The full restoration is also seen as important for economic and tourism activity in Labuan Bajo, while helping residents in Flores and surrounding islands return to normal activities.
