NU congress in Jombang discusses I’anatun Nadzar concept
The concept could allow PBNU decisions from a congress or national scholars' meeting to be revisited if new considerations emerge.
The Bahtsul Masail Maudluiyah Commission at the 35th Nahdlatul Ulama congress prioritized discussion of the I’anatun Nadzar concept in a session at MAN 3 Bahrul Ulum, Tambakberas, Jombang, East Java, on Saturday. Session chair Cholil Nafis said the concept was taken up first because it had already been on the agenda of the Musyawarah Nasional Alim Ulama, but still needed input from muktamirin to make the formulation firmer. I’anatun Nadzar governs the possibility of reviewing decisions of the Pengurus Besar Nahdlatul Ulama set through a congress or a munas. Musahhih Bahtsul Masail Munas Alim Ulama at Al Falah Ploso, Kediri, Aniq Nawawi, said a review is needed if stronger considerations arise, social realities change, or the methodology for legal reasoning develops.
