Kemendagri, Kemendag, TASPEN send aid for NTT quake victims
Kemendagri gave Rp15 juta to each bereaved family and Rp100 juta for Waekokak, while Kemendag listed 4 affected markets.
The Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Trade and PT TASPEN distributed aid for victims of the magnitude 7.7 earthquake in Nusa Tenggara Timur. During a visit to the Waekokak refugee post in Aesesa subdistrict, Nagekeo regency, on Tuesday, 18 August 2026, Home Affairs Minister Muhammad Tito Karnavian handed Rp15 juta in compensation to each heir of those who died and Rp100 juta in aid for the village. Tito also highlighted damage to irrigation covering about 100 hectares. A day earlier in Jakarta, Trade Minister Budi Santoso handed over Rp250 juta from Kemendag Peduli and said an initial assessment found four affected markets, including Pasar Inpres Ruteng in Manggarai, which is temporarily out of use. TASPEN added Rp155 juta in aid, including seven generators, 25 tarpaulins, and 400 packages of staple food for about 450 evacuees.
