Kemenkes builds 2 field hospitals for NTT quake victims
The Ruteng and Aeramo facilities include an operating room, with initial capacity for about 60 patients and a target of 100.
The Ministry of Health is building two field hospitals in Nusa Tenggara Timur to preserve medical services for victims of the 7.7 magnitude quake. The emergency facilities are being set up at RSUD Ruteng in Manggarai regency and RSUD Aeramo in Nagekeo regency, after both hospitals were affected by the earthquake. In Manggarai, Kemenkes is also accelerating a field hospital installation at Golo Dukal Stadium. Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin inspected the site on 18 August. Kemenkes said five tents have been installed: four for patients and one sterile operating room, plus an emergency department tent. The initial capacity is about 60 beds and is targeted to rise to at least 100 after additional tents are sent from Bali. The Nagekeo Composite EMT team is also coordinating with RSUD Aeramo and monitoring damage to the wards.
