Indonesia targets second straight win against Mozambik at GBK
FIFA ranking points from the match are also at stake, as Indonesia looks to climb from 119th in the world.
Indonesia's national team is seeking a second win in the FIFA Match Day when it hosts Mozambik at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium in Jakarta on Tuesday (9/6), after beating Oman 3-0 in its previous match. PSSI chairman Erick Thohir reminded John Herdman's squad not to underestimate Mozambik, even though the opponent is ranked 101st by FIFA, below Oman at 79th. Indonesia is currently 119th in the world and is targeting added points to improve its ranking. Midfielder Joey Pelupessy also said Mozambik will not be an easy opponent because it uses a different playing system. During a review of training at Stadion Madya, Erick also checked the team's needs and the condition of players recovering from injuries, including Justin Hubner and Mees Hilgers.
