Trump claims Hamas agreed to total disarmament in Gaza
He said the plan would roll out in stages, with Israeli troops withdrawing as international forces and new Palestinian police secure Gaza.
U.S. President Donald Trump claimed an agreement had been reached to fully disarm Hamas and other armed groups in Gaza. In a Truth Social post, Trump said the deal was reached by the Board of Peace with support from mediators from Mesir, Qatar and Turki. He said the process would unfold in stages: Israeli forces would pull back from Gaza as the disarmament proceeds. Trump also said the International Stabilization Force would work with a new Palestinian police force to secure the area. He said the step would open the way for a new Palestinian administration in Gaza and provide security guarantees for Israel. CNN Indonesia reported that earlier talks between mediators and Hamas leaders in Kairo were said to have made progress.
