Basarnas flies 5 health workers to Manggarai Timur quake zone
A team from Makassar was deployed to a health post in Lamba Leda Utara to speed medical care in hard-to-reach areas.
The Maumere SAR office, together with SAR potential elements, flew five health workers to areas affected by the 7.7 magnitude quake in Manggarai Timur, Nusa Tenggara Timur, on Friday, August 21. The Basarnas Dauphin AS 365 N3+ helicopter departed Komodo Airport, Labuan Bajo, for the Ronting helipad in Satar Kampas village, then supported the Kementerian Kesehatan Health Post in Kampung Damer, Satar Padut village, Lamba Leda Utara district. The team consists of doctors, nurses, pharmacy staff, and administrative and logistics personnel from Balai Besar Kekarantinaan Kesehatan Makassar and Pusat Krisis Kesehatan Makassar. Basarnas said the step is aimed at speeding medical treatment and maintaining access to basic health services for residents in areas that are difficult to reach by road.
