US-Iran war deal stalls as Trump seeks edits to draft pact

What's new: Trump said he is in no hurry, while negotiators are still wrangling over nuclear terms and reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

A draft agreement to extend the US-Iran ceasefire and open talks on Tehran's nuclear program remained unsigned over the weekend, as President Donald Trump pushed for changes and warned military action could resume if diplomacy fails. Vice President JD Vance said negotiators were still haggling over language, including uranium enrichment. The proposed memorandum of understanding would reportedly extend the ceasefire for 60 days, reopen shipping through the Strait of Hormuz and allow Iran to resume oil sales under US sanction waivers. Trump told Fox News he wanted a deal that bars Iran from ever obtaining a nuclear weapon, but said he was "not in a hurry" to sign.
