US hit dozens of Iran targets after Hormuz ship attack

What's new: Iran then fired at Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Jordan and Oman, widening the conflict around a key oil route.

The United States launched several more rounds of strikes on Iran on Sunday and late into Monday, hitting dozens of targets after an Iranian attack on the Cyprus-flagged container ship M/V GFS Galaxy in the Strait of Hormuz. US Central Command said the strikes targeted air defenses, coastal radar sites, missile and drone capabilities, and Revolutionary Guard boats to curb attacks on commercial shipping. Iran then struck Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Jordan and Oman, with Gulf states reporting intercepted missiles and drones. The latest fighting has pushed US-Iran talks toward collapse and intensified the standoff over one of the world's most important oil and gas transit chokepoints.
