Trump seeks more changes to proposed US-Iran deal framework

President Donald Trump is pushing additional edits to a proposed US-Iran framework tied to a ceasefire, Hormuz shipping and nuclear talks.

President Donald Trump has asked for further changes to a proposed framework with Iran meant to extend a ceasefire and reopen talks on Tehran’s nuclear program. Reports said the latest edits focus on the Strait of Hormuz and the removal of highly enriched uranium. The draft framework also includes a 60-day halt in violence, reopening the waterway and possible sanctions relief that could give Iran access to frozen assets. Trump and senior aides met Friday in the Situation Room but did not settle the next steps. Iran’s chief negotiator, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, said Tehran would not accept any deal unless its rights were secured, while Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi called current public claims speculation.
