Trump claims Iran accepted nuclear inspections; Tehran denies it

What's new: Trump said inspections could wait and tied continued talks to access for U.N. watchdog inspectors.

President Donald Trump said Tuesday that Iran had agreed to allow long-term inspections of its nuclear sites, but Tehran disputed that account and said it had not agreed to bring inspectors back. Trump told reporters there was "no rush" and that inspectors would enter Iran at the "appropriate time." He also said he would end negotiations if Iran refused inspections. The dispute comes as Washington has temporarily waived some sanctions for 60 days under an interim peace deal. Trump also said U.S. ships would remain near the Strait of Hormuz in case a blockade of Iranian ports needed to be restored, though he called that unlikely.
