A400M carried 22 tons of logistics as 696 hotspots were monitored in Kalimantan Selatan, where fire risk was mostly high.

TNI AU is expanding air operations to handle forest and land fires in Kalimantan by deploying an A400M transport plane and three Cassa-212 aircraft for weather modification. The A400M departed from Lanud Halim Perdanakusuma carrying 22 tons of equipment, including water pumps, masks and a patrol car. One Cassa-212 is stationed at Lanud Dhomber, Balikpapan, to support operations in the Nusantara Capital, while the other two aircraft are prepared for Kalimantan Timur and Kalimantan Selatan. On the ground, TNI is working with BNPB, BMKG, BPBD, Manggala Agni and joint teams. BMKG also reported 696 hotspots in Kalimantan Selatan as of 23 August, with forest fire risk indicators dominated by high levels.
