Singapore seized PMD caught speeding through KPE tunnel
What's new: Transport officers also impounded 100 non-compliant devices and logged 310 offenses in July operations.
Singapore authorities seized a personal mobility device that was filmed carrying two people at high speed through the Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway tunnel, the Land Transport Authority said. The device was taken within three days of the July incident, and the case remains under investigation. Video shared online showed the PMD overtaking cars in the tunnel, where speed limits are generally 70 to 80 kph. Motorized PMDs are barred from roads and expressways in Singapore and are capped at 25 kph. The device in the footage also appeared to lack the required registration plate. In separate July enforcement actions, LTA officers detected 310 offenses involving errant cyclists and device users and impounded 100 non-compliant devices.
