Russian missiles and drones kill 8 across Ukraine, hit Lviv

Russia fired more than 70 missiles and about 280 drones at Ukraine overnight into Thursday, killing at least eight civilians, including children, and wounding dozens, Ukrainian officials said. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said at least 10 regions were hit, with Kyiv and the western city of Lviv among the main targets. Ukraine's air force said it intercepted 55 missiles and 265 drones but downed only one of nine ballistic missiles. In Dnipropetrovsk, six people, including three children, were killed, while strikes also killed one person each in Kyiv and Poltava. In Lviv, a missile struck a residential building without exploding, damaging upper floors as rescuers pulled people from the rubble.
