PU sends water tankers and toilets for 2,623 Reok quake evacuees
Also due Sunday night: 4 additional tankers, 5 water treatment units, 2 portable toilets and a vacuum truck to boost supplies.
The Ministry of Public Works is sending additional drinking water and sanitation facilities for 2,623 earthquake evacuees in Reok District, Manggarai Regency, Nusa Tenggara Timur. The evacuees are spread across two main shelters, Golo Conggo with 1,111 people and Barangkolong with 1,512. Since the Aug. 15, 2026 quake, water service at the two shelters has been supported by five water treatment units, each with a 1,000-liter capacity, from Pertamina and Brimob, as well as three PDAM Komodo tanker trucks from SPAM IKK Reok. To expand capacity, PU has mobilized equipment from Lombok, including 4 water tankers, 1 vacuum truck, 1 dump truck, 5 water treatment unit sets, 2 portable toilets, and 1 Biority. The equipment is expected to arrive in Reok on Sunday night, Aug. 23, and then be deployed according to shelter needs.
