Prabowo attacks riot instigators, tells pessimists to leave

President Prabowo Subianto attacked leaders who incite arson and called them traitors to the nation, while telling those who view Indonesia's future as bleak to find another country. He made the remarks at the main event marking the 79th National Cooperatives Day at Indonesia Arena, Senayan, Jakarta, on Sunday, July 12, 2026. Prabowo said political competition is normal, but election results must be respected. He also referred to his own four election defeats and said he had never ordered his supporters to cause unrest. At the same forum, he said Indonesia will recover economically and said the Koperasi Desa/Kelurahan Merah Putih program can strengthen local economies.
