Police seize 74 kg of gold and Rp476 billion in cash in Sentul
The safe also contained US$4.77 million, S$14.08 million and Rp100 million, plus documents and phones from 12 raids.
Polri's Kortastipidkor seized evidence worth about Rp476 billion from a house in Parahyangan Golf 2, Sentul, Bogor Regency, West Java, during a Wednesday (8/7) search. From a locked safe opened by investigators, police found seven suitcases containing 74 kilograms of gold bars, US$4.767.300, S$14.083.800 and Rp100 million in cash. Police also took documents, cellphones and family photos believed to be linked to the homeowner and the owner of the safe's contents. Irjen Totok Suharyanto said the search was part of an investigation into alleged corruption and money laundering. The case under review involves PT PLN, PT Asabri and alleged corruption in the settlement of PT Caturkarsa Megatunggal Berjaya, or PT CBS, debt to PT Krakatau Niaga Indonesia, a subsidiary of Krakatau Steel. The search was carried out with Polda Metro Jaya at 12 locations in Jakarta and surrounding areas.
