Police have not identified them, but say the involvement is tied to a company from a neighboring country.
Polri has found suspected foreign involvement in 98 wildfire cases involving companies in Indonesia. National Police Chief Suyudi Ario Seto said investigators are still sorting out the parties involved, including foreign investment elements and companies from neighboring countries, so their identities and roles have not been disclosed. The cases stem from forest and land fires in Sumatera and Kalimantan. Bareskrim Polri has upgraded 98 police reports to the investigation stage to gather evidence and determine who is responsible. CNN Indonesia also reported that nine palm oil plantation companies have been named suspects, with 25.600,26 hectares of land burned.
