Paspampres deploys 1,147 personnel for Jakarta Independence events
The security plan includes anti-drone vehicles, jammers and CBRNE units, plus 294 personnel for the Aug. 17 ceremony at Istana.
Paspampres deployed 1,147 personnel to secure the series of events marking the 81st anniversary of Indonesia's independence in Jakarta. Paspampres Commander Mayjen TNI Edwin Adrian Sumantha inspected the readiness during a troop assembly for the VVIP security task force at the Black Field of Mako Paspampres on Monday, Aug. 10, 2026. The personnel were assigned to several events: 277 for the MPR RI Annual Session, 151 for the Honor Roll Call and Sacred Vigil, 294 for the proclamation ceremony and flag-lowering on Aug. 17, 205 for the People's Festival at Monas, 70 for Paskibraka, and 150 for the ceremonial troop team at Istana Merdeka. Paspampres also prepared rifles, pistols, Koopsudnas anti-drone vehicles, Maung Arhanud, CBRNE vehicles, jammers, G500 and Goldwing motorcycles to counter threats including drones and cyber disruptions.
