National roads in Flores reopen, Wae Pesi Bridge restricted

The Reo Port link bridge has passed a 20-ton fuel truck test, while heavy equipment remains on standby for aftershocks and landslides.

Connectivity on the national road network in Flores, East Nusa Tenggara, has recovered after the Magnitudo 7,7 quake, with all sections that were blocked by landslides now reopened. The Ministry of Public Works said restoring land access has been a priority from the first day so resident mobility and logistics distribution can continue. In Manggarai Regency, the Wae Pesi Bridge, which connects Pelabuhan Reo with several areas, is now functional and can be crossed in limited one-by-one traffic. The bridge was also tested using a fuel truck carrying up to 20 tons. At landslide-prone points, excavators have been deployed to anticipate further disruption. Beyond roads and bridges, repairs to the water supply system are proceeding in stages, along with delivery of public hydrants, water tank trucks and portable toilets.
