Iran struck US sites in Bahrain and Kuwait after American raids

Iran hit US military sites in Bahrain and Kuwait on July 8 after American forces launched fresh strikes on Iranian targets following attacks on three merchant ships near the Strait of Hormuz. Iran's Revolutionary Guards said they used missiles and drones against Bahrain's Fifth Naval District and Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait, and claimed to have shot down a US MQ-9 drone. Kuwaiti authorities said air defenses were confronting hostile missiles and drones, while sirens sounded in both countries. US Central Command said earlier strikes targeted more than 60 Revolutionary Guard small boats and other military assets, and a US official told Reuters the operation also hit air defenses, surveillance systems, anti-ship missiles and drone launch sites.
