U.S. sends 10 military cargo planes to Israel air base

The fleet was stationed at Ovda and Nevatim, while Patriot missile systems were also moved from Texas to the Gulf region.

The United States sent 10 military cargo planes to an air base in southern Israel's Negev, amid preparations for a possible new attack on Iran. Israel's public broadcaster KAN said the planes landed at Ovda Air Base and Nevatim. Several additional military aircraft were also reported sent to bases in Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. So far there has been no official confirmation from Washington about the deployment, including what the aircraft carried. KAN also reported that the U.S. and Israeli militaries continue to coordinate while awaiting a decision from President Donald Trump. Earlier this week, Washington was said to have informed Gulf countries about the possibility of a short and limited military campaign against Iran. The U.S. also moved Patriot missile defense systems from Texas to bolster air defenses in the region.
