Indonesia to face Vietnam without Marselino at AFF 2026
Indonesia sits second in Group A with 6 points, making the Pakansari match crucial to its semifinal hopes.
Indonesia’s national team stepped up preparations to host Vietnam in a Group A match at the AFF 2026 with an intense training session at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium in Jakarta on Sunday, without Marselino Ferdinan. The midfielder is still injured and also missed Indonesia’s 5-1 win over Kamboja and 3-0 victory over Timor Leste. As a result, Marselino is likely to again miss the squad for the match at Pakansari Stadium in Bogor on Monday (3/8). In a session led by coach John Herdman, Tom Haye and teammates worked on warmups, passing drills, ball control and tactical simulations to prepare for Vietnam. Indonesia is now second in Group A with six points, behind Singapore on seven, while Vietnam is third with four points.
