At MPR session, Prabowo condemns MBG graft, keeps program
Prabowo called theft of children’s meal funds “barbaric” and pledged to fix and streamline MBG.
President Prabowo Subianto condemned alleged corruption in the Makan Bergizi Gratis program at the annual MPR RI session at the Parliamentary Complex in Jakarta on Friday, 14 August. He called those who take money from the children’s meal program “barbaric” and unworthy of respect, saying they have lost their humanity. In remarks before the MPR, DPR and DPD, Prabowo also stressed that MBG would continue. He said implementation would be improved and made more efficient. CNBC Indonesia reported that the Attorney General’s Office has arrested several people in the alleged MBG corruption case at the Badan Gizi Nasional in 2025-2026, including former BGN head Dadan Hindayana.
