6 TNI AU planes send 31 tons of aid to NTT, 500 pumps to Kalimantan
Three planes to Pontianak, Palangka Raya and Banjarmasin carried 500 pumps, part of 2,000 units for peatland fires.
The government on Monday at 04.30 WIB dispatched six TNI AU planes to address two disasters at once: the earthquake in Nusa Tenggara Timur and forest and land fires in Kalimantan. Three planes headed to Labuan Bajo and Maumere carrying 31 tons of ready-to-eat supplies, including biscuits, wafers, protein bars, bread, other food items, and toys for children. Three other planes were sent to Pontianak, Palangka Raya, and Banjarmasin with 500 water pumps. According to Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, the shipment is part of 2,000 pumps to be distributed in stages on the instructions of President Prabowo Subianto and at the request of governors in Kalimantan. Each pump is equipped with a hose or pipe 1 kilometer long for firefighting, especially in peatland areas.
