Jakarta Air Quality Worsens for 3 Days, 367 Facilities on Alert
The Jakarta administration has placed 31 hospitals, 44 community health centers and 292 subcenters on alert for respiratory complaints.
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said the capital's air quality has worsened over the past three days. He said the data came from hundreds of Jakarta-owned emission monitors, not just BMKG data. Amid speculation that haze from forest and land fires had reached the capital, Pramono did not cite a specific cause and said only that weather conditions were deteriorating. As a mitigation step, the Jakarta administration has put 31 hospitals, 44 puskesmas and 292 puskesmas pembantu on alert to treat residents with respiratory problems and complaints linked to air quality. Earlier, BMKG said Jakarta and Jabodetabek were not in the smoke dispersion area on its monitoring map.
