Britain sends Typhoon jets to Saudi Arabia against Houthi attacks

London is also adding an RAF A400M, military advisers and 90 days of air-to-air refueling support amid a rise in Houthi strikes.

Britain will deploy RAF Typhoon fighter jets to Saudi Arabia to help defend cities and key infrastructure from Houthi missile and drone attacks. The British Ministry of Defence said on Tuesday the aircraft will be used only for defensive missions, not strikes in Yemen. In addition to the Typhoon, London is sending an RAF A400M transport aircraft, extending air-to-air refueling support for 90 days and placing military advisers with Saudi staff. The move follows an increase in Houthi attacks on Saudi territory, including a strike on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh that reportedly killed 13 people and injured more than 300. The UN had previously also voiced concern about attacks on Saudi civilian and energy infrastructure.
