Russia hits Kyiv with around 4 dozen ballistic missiles
At least 1 person was killed and 13 injured as strikes hit six districts and set off apartment and supermarket fires.
Russia launched a barrage of ballistic missile strikes on Kyiv on Sunday (19/7), which Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andri Sybiha said was the largest number fired in a single attack since the 2022 full-scale invasion. Sybiha said the total was about four dozen missiles. Ukraine's State Emergency Service reported at least one person was killed and 13 others were injured. Police said the strikes hit six districts in the capital. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said an apartment building in Solomianskyi District was struck, while a supermarket caught fire. Fires were also reported at a house in Sviatoshynskyi District, as well as at other locations in Dniprovskyi and Shevchenkivskyi. The attack came a day after waves of Ukrainian drones hit Russian territory, including Kursk.
