Prabowo targets 81,000 Kopdes Merah Putih nationwide

President Prabowo Subianto is targeting the formation of about 81,000 Koperasi Desa/Kelurahan Merah Putih across Indonesia to strengthen village economies. At the 79th National Cooperative Day event at Indonesia Arena, Senayan, Jakarta, on Sunday (12/7), Prabowo said about 12,000 cooperatives have already been established and around 1,000 of them are operating. He said cooperatives will be built in all villages, regardless of whether the area supports Partai Gerindra or not. The government projects KDKMP could add Rp223 trillion a year to public welfare and raise producer income by Rp202 trillion, especially for farmers, livestock breeders and fishers. Prabowo also decided that subsidized goods will be distributed through these cooperatives to improve targeting.
