KPK arrests West Jakarta Immigration official in WNA permit raid

Several people have been taken to Gedung Merah Putih, and KPK has 1x24 jam to decide their legal status.

KPK arrested several people, including a West Jakarta Immigration official, in a sting operation in West Jakarta on Wednesday (3/6). KPK deputy chairman Fitroh Rohcahyanto said the case is related to the handling of foreign nationals. Those caught were later taken to KPK's Gedung Merah Putih in South Jakarta for further questioning. CNN Indonesia reported that evidence from the sting was also brought in, including motor vehicles. A CNN Indonesia source inside KPK said the case involves alleged extortion in processing WNA work permits. As of this report, the identities of those arrested have not been disclosed, and the Directorate General of Immigration has not provided an explanation.
