Colombia Quake Victim Found Alive After 36 Hours Trapped

Death toll has risen to 224-254, while dozens more remain missing in Cali and Pereira as rescue work continues.

Rescue teams in Colombia have found more earthquake survivors as searches continue in several affected cities. In Pereira, crews pulled Daniela Largo Sanchez from the rubble of a hotel after she was trapped for 36 hours. In Cali, a woman named Diana was also brought out alive after about 30 hours, while Carlos Esteban Rebolledo survived after 20 hours buried under debris. A magnitude 7.4 quake struck near San Jose del Palmar, Choco, on Monday and damaged buildings in coffee-growing areas and other major cities. Death toll figures vary by report, but the number of dead has already exceeded 220 and could rise further as the search operation continues.
