Commission III forms special panel to monitor 3 corruption cases
The House also asked the Attorney General's Office to form an independent investigative team, while the KPK sees no basis yet to take over the cases.
Commission III of the House of Representatives formed a working committee to oversee the handling of three corruption and money-laundering cases involving former special crimes director Febrie Adriansyah on Saturday, July 11, 2026. All factions agreed to the special panel and appointed Commission III Chairman Habiburokhman as its head. The House described the cases as one of the country's “mega corruption” scandals and said Febrie's resignation must not stop the legal process. Commission III also asked the Attorney General's Office to form an independent investigative team with no ties to Febrie. The cases under review include alleged corruption involving PT Asabri, PT Krakatau Steel, and a coal procurement deal that triggered power outages in Sumatera. Police have named Febrie and Don Ritto as suspects.
