Yaqut faces first trial in Jakarta hajj quota graft case
KPK estimates the potential state loss in the 2023-2024 hajj quota case at Rp622 miliar.
Former Religious Affairs Minister Yaqut Cholil Qoumas faced his first hearing in the alleged hajj quota corruption case at the Corruption Court at the Central Jakarta District Court on Tuesday (11/8). The hearing agenda was the reading of the indictment by KPK prosecutors. In the same case, indictments were also read for former Religious Affairs special staffer Isfhah Abidal Aziz alias Gus Alex, Maktour Operations Director Ismail Adham, and former Kesthuri chairman Asrul Aziz Taba. According to the Central Jakarta District Court case-tracking system, the hearing began at 09.00 WIB in the Muhammad Hatta Ali courtroom with Ni Kadek Susantiani presiding. KPK began its investigation on 9 August 2025 and received the BPK audit results on 24 February 2026, which said the potential state loss reached Rp622 miliar.
