Iran launches up to 4 missiles at US forces in Middle East

CENTCOM said all missiles were intercepted, while Teheran also denied any new negotiations with Washington.

Iran launched a ballistic missile attack on United States forces based in the Middle East on Tuesday local time, amid fresh tensions after President AS Donald Trump claimed strikes on Iran had been stopped. US Central Command, CENTCOM, said the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps fired several missiles around 17.45 ET in an attempt to hit US forces, and all were intercepted. A US official said the number of missiles launched was estimated at no more than four. A day earlier, Iran's military also warned the war could spread geographically if Washington continued air strikes, with the range said to include US bases in Yordania and the Persian Gulf region.
